活動目標 |
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive brain cancer type which has high level of cell invasion, and angiogenesis. The survival ratio of GBM patients is less than 15 months, although treat with traditional surgical, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Compound A is a marine sponge -derived compound, exhibits unclear anti-cancer mechanism. Here, we investigated the cell survival inhibition of compound A in GBM cells. Moreover, we also found Compound A down-regulates Akt signaling pathway, which is important for migration and survival, in GBM cells. And decrease migration by Transwell invasion assay and scratch assay in GBM cells. Furthermore, Compound A locks the major proangiogenic factor VEGF expression and secretion in GBM cells. Therefore, we think Compound A is a potential agent that worthy to development on tumor therapy for anti-angiogenesis and anti-invasion ability in GBM.
